Prayer to avoid shirk, whether realized or not

Many people think that shirk only occurs when worshiping idols or worshiping besides God openly. In fact, shirk can infiltrate the heart in a very subtle form – like the desire to be praised, show off worship, or feel proud of the charity itself. Even the Friends of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam It was also taught special prayers to avoid shirk, both what they realized or not. If they just feel worried, what about those of us who live in a full era and imaging?

Prayer asks for protection from shirk

Oh God, I seek protection in yourself to share with you and I know, and I ask for forgiveness from what I don’t know

Alloahummaa is A’udzu Bika Anyrika Bika Wa Aan A’lamu, Wa Astagh-Firuka Limaa Laa A’lamu.

“O Allah, I seek protection in you from your colleague while I realize it, and I ask for your forgiveness for what I don’t know.”

This prayer contains a request for protection from the biggest and most dangerous sin: shirk, which is associating with God. Shirk is the biggest form of tyranny, as stated in Luqman’s advice to his son,

O My children, don’t share with God 😭 Pornography is great injustice

“Yes, my son! Don’t hang out with God.

(Surah Luqmān: 13)

God also said,

God does not forgive that He will be involved in it, and forgives what is without it for who he is the will

“Indeed, God will not forgive Shirk’s sins, and He forgives sins and for whom he will be.”

(Surah An-Nisā ‘: 48)

Why is this prayer important?

Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam Teaching this prayer because no servant is really safe from shirk. Even the Friends of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam -What lives in the best time and receives direct guidance from him which is presented to be careful about Shirk.

Shirk is very subtle, can infiltrate the soul without realizing it, more vague than an ant’s footsteps on the slippery stone in the darkness of the night. A servant can fall into shirk, even though he feels he is worshiping.

This is the reason the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam teach this prayer: To remind you that even the best people can fall in the form of hidden shirk.

What is meant by shirk here?

What is meant by shirk in this context is Riya ‘, want to be praised, likes to be seen by people, and feel proud of the charity itself. These are subtle liver diseases, which will not disappear from someone until he really recognizes him.

A person can do good deeds with the intention of wanting to get the pleasure of God, but in the middle of the road the encouragement emerged to be seen, praised, or considered great by humans. Unwittingly, his intention changed, then God is no longer his main goal. This is a very dangerous form of small shirk.

Why is Abu Bakr even worried?

“Does shirk do not mean worshiping other than God?”

From here we learn that the danger of shirk is very large, it can even make the pious people feel scared and alert. This is also a lesson that some very important things can be escaped from the understanding of some people, even from among friends and great scholars.

What should we do?

Increase this prayer. Read with a sincere heart,

Oh God, I seek protection in yourself to share with you and I know, and I ask for forgiveness from what I don’t know

Check the intention regularly. Before, during, and after charity, ask myself: “For whom I do this?”

Take care of sincerity. This is the key to charity that must be accepted by God.

Pray and depend only on God. Because only with His help can we survive shirk, both big and hidden ones.
