First time in East Halmahera, Insan Bumi Mandiri distributed breaking the fasting package in Gotowasi Village

Gotowasi, East Halmahera – Insan Bumi Mandiri distributed 100 packages of breaking the fast to residents of Gotowasi Village, South Maba District, East Halmahera Regency, on March 1, 2025. This activity was the first time the Bumi Mandiri human being held in the East Halmahera region, at An Nur Mosque.

Iftar food is prepared in mutual cooperation by residents. The main menu in the form of chicken, which is rarely consumed by coastal communities, as well as vegetables, gelatin, panekuk cakes, mineral water, and fresh coconut ice. Most packages are given to children, orphans, and residents who participated in Tadarus at the mosque.

In addition to sharing food, this event is also a place of togetherness. The activity began with the Koran together, an educational game about the story of the Prophet, breaking the fast, and closed with the evening prayer in congregation.

“It’s nice to see children gathering and playing in the mosque while waiting for breaking the fast. They are also very enthusiastic about the breaking menu that they rarely enjoy,” said Ulfa Hafiza, Volunteer Insan Bumi Mandiri.

The preparation of breaking the fast began in morning, with village mothers cooking together, while village youth helped collect young coconuts and prepare locations at the mosque. The atmosphere of mutual cooperation further strengthens relations between citizens.

This iftar sharing program is part of the initiative of the Bumi Mandiri people to reach people in remote areas during the month of Ramadan. In the future, this program will be expanded to other regions in need.
