Two types of assistance according to Ibnul Qayyim: absolute and limited assistance

In the book Al-Juyusy al-Jueyusy al-Islamiyyah Employment of Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah Rahimahullahmentioned two kinds of favors.

The favors are divided into two: absolute favors (ni’mah muthlaqah) and limited favors (ni’mah muqayyadah).

1. Absolute delicious (that night ‘

Absolute assistance is assistance that is directly related to eternal happiness in the afterlife. This is Islamic assistance and sunnah assistance. This assistance is a gift ordered by Allah Ta’ala to ask him in every prayer so that we can be given guidance in the way those who seek this assistance. They are people chosen by Allah Ta’ala and made as the highest inhabitants of heaven, as he said,

And anyone who obeys God and messenger, then you are with those who are blessed by Allah, from the Prophet, Prophet, and two righteous people and two right people, well, you are a jurisprudence

“And anyone who obeys God and his messengers, they will be with those who are given to Allah, the Prophets, Shiddiqin, the martyrs, and pious people. And they are the best friends. ” (QS. An-Nisa ‘: 69).

The absolute favors are specifically only for believers. So, if someone says that God does not have favors of infidels in this sense, then that is a true statement.

2. Limited favors (ni’mah muqayyadah)

The second type of favors is limited favors, such as healthy favors, wealth, fit body, broad position, many descendants, good wives, and for example. Favors like this can be owned by both both and evil people, by believers and infidels.

If it is said that God has favors of infidels in these aspects, then that is true. However, it must not absolutely deny or determine that he gets favors except with one explanation: that the limited blessings are actually only forms Istidraj (delay the turn) for people who do not believe. The end of the favors is torture and misery. So it doesn’t seem to be help, but a disaster.

Allah Story has named it so in His book, as His Word,

As for humans, when his Lord will be destroyed, he will be respected and blessed with him, so he said, my Lord, respected, and when he did not. He is his livelihood, and he said, God, Ahnan ﴿16 ﴾

“As for humans, when his master tested him and glorified him and gave him pleasure, he said, ‘My Rabbaku has respect me.’ But when his Lord tested him and limits his provisions, he said, ‘My Lord embarrass me.’ No matter that. “(Surah Al-Fajr: 15–17)

Meaning: Not every person I glorified in the world and I gave a pleasure, meaning I really gave him pleasure. That is just a test and trial from me. And not every person I limit his fortune and only I give it sufficiently, meaning I humiliate it. I tested my servant both with pleasure and disaster.

Are people who do not believe given absolute help?

God has provided absolute assistance to people who do not believe, but people who do not believe refuse and replace God’s assistance, so his condition is like a person who is given his life, but he throws it into the sea. Lord Story said,

Are you not seeing those who have changed God’s blessings, and they will not believe in the house

“Don’t you see those who replace God’s help with disbelief, and they drop their people into a place of destruction?“(Surah Ibrahim: 28)

And Allah Ta’ala also said,

As for their guidance thorns, they will like blind people to guidance.

“As for the Tsamud people, we have given them guidance, but they prefer blindly (mistakes) rather than guidance. “(QS. Fussilat: 17)

Absolute assistance is real assistance from being proud

The absolute advantage is decent assistance for reality. The excitement of this blessing is something that is loved and loved by Allah Ta’ala. God does not love those who are proud of the world, but God loves those who are happy with the help of Islam and the sunnah. Lord Story said,

Say the preferences of God and His mercy

“Say: With the grace of God and His mercy, they must be happy. It’s better than what they collect. ” (Surah Yunus: 58)

Salaf scholars explain that the gift of God and His grace is Islam and the Sunnah.

And how much in one’s heart, that is the level of joy for both of them.

The stronger and sturdy a person is above Islam and the sunnah, the deeper heart of his heart and the greater his happiness.

In fact, when people feel the saddest, the heart of a sunnah lover can jump in excitement because it feels the pleasure of the Sunnah spirit. When humans are filled with fear, his heart is actually full of security.

Conclusion

1. Favors Absolut (Ni’mah Muthlaqah):

The biggest favors are directly related to eternal happiness, namely the blessings of Islam and the Sunnah. Only owned by believers and becomes the cause of the afterlife.

2. Limited favors (Ni’mah Muqayyadah):

Duniawa favors such as healthy, wealth, position, and family. Can be owned by anyone, including infidels. For infidels, this is only Istidraj (Postponement of punishment)Not a true gift.

Let us be grateful for the greatest favors: Islamic favors and sunnahAbsolute favors which are a way to eternal happiness. We should not be fooled by the assistance of the mortal world, while our hearts are ignored from the greatest gift that God has given.
